To expand its programming team and strengthen its internal technology, Arkane studios Lyon is seeking talented Engine Programmers to join us for a new unannounced project. These positions are opened to different levels of expertise, from industry veterans to less experienced candidates.

Responsible for adapting, maintaining and optimizing the code of our game engine for PC and consoles. Multipurpose, he/she will deal with technology issues that will come up during production (IO, audio, physics, rendering, memory, and etc)

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of C/C++
  • Experience in building multithreaded, real-time systems
  • Experience writing systems balancing performance and maintainability
  • Ability to fearlessly jump into large, existing code bases
  • Ability to contribute innovative and original ideas towards all aspects of game production and development

Responsibilities

  • Write code that fulfills the functional and technical requirements of the project.
  • Develop and optimize the code of engine subsystems by taking full advantage of target hardware and architecture.
  • Work with the studio existing software technology and build new technology inorder to fulfill the project’s technical requirements.
  • Research coding techniques and algorithms in order to keep current on technological developments and advancements in the game industry.
  • Identify technical and developmental risks/obstacles and generate solutions to overcome identified risks

Graphics Programmer

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of C/C++
  • Strong interest in rendering algorithms
  • Good knowledge of any low-level graphics APIs
  • Experience with DirectX 11 level shaders and HLSL
  • Graphics debugging using pix, renderdoc or similar tools

Senior Game Designer

The Senior Game Designer will oversee the design, implementation and tuning of game systems to ensure the best moment-to-moment gameplay experience.

Qualifications

  • You have already worked and shipped a AAA game as a game designer
  • Experience with system-driven games
  • Knowledge of iterative development and rapid prototyping

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the creative director and lead the effort to develop some of the game systems in support of the project’s goals
  • Work hand in hand with other system designers to ensure consistency between all the game systems
  • Lead a team of developers (including gameplay programmers, animators, UI artist, sound engineer..) to implement and polish the systems he/her is in charge of
  • Generate design documentation to clearly communicate ideas and goals to the team 
  • Drive his/her team to meet the project deadlines and objectives by following the Arkane agile/scrum processes

Arkane Studios, Lyon offices (in France) is looking for a Lighting Artist and you will be responsible in defining and maintaining the lighting of different levels. Under the creative supervision of the Art and Creative Directors, your lightings work should magnify the visuals of our projects, while serving and respecting technical limitations and gameplay intentions.

Qualifications

  • At least one experience in a role of Lighting / Level Artist on a real time project
  • Excellent knowledge of direct and indirect lighting, luminance and color theory
  • Excellent artistic and film culture
  • Excellent sense of composition and photography
  • Autonomous in order to be able to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner while maintaining a high level of quality

Responsibilities

  • Define lighting intentions by doing visual researches and synthesized documentations

To expand its Animation and Character Art teams, Arkane Studios is seeking talented Technical Character Artist to join us for a new unannounced project. 

Under the Producer responsibility and in close collaboration with the Technical Director, the technical character artist/Animator will work with the animators and the character modelers to define, create and maintain the characters production and animation workflow.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience in the game industry
  • In-depth knowledge of Maya
  • Create and maintain character and props rigs/setups
  • Proficiency in Python and Mel, ability to write tools to streamline the rigging and animation process

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain an efficient animation and character production pipeline to support the Art and Design intentions, and to increase the productivity of the animation and modelers team
  • Collaborate with animators to design motion controls
  • Script tools for the animation team
  • Work with the modelers to create models that meet technical needs
  • Develop new techniques and processes to solve character production challenges
  • Design, create, test and maintain character rigs/setups
  • Develop and maintain character motion and deformation systems
  • Support and improve the integration of animation assets from Maya to game engine
  • Handle the most technical tasks related to characters set up and implementation:
  • Rig and skin a variety of character assets, (heads and bodies), garments and gear
