To expand its programming team and strengthen its internal technology, Arkane studios Lyon is seeking talented Engine Programmers. These positions are opened to different levels of expertise, from industry veterans to less experienced candidates.

Responsible for adapting, maintaining and optimizing the code of our game engine for PC and consoles. Multipurpose, he/she will deal with technology issues that will come up during production (IO, audio, physics, rendering, memory, and etc)

Responsibilities

•    Write code that fulfills the functional and technical requirements of the project.
•    Develop and optimize the code of engine subsystems by taking full advantage of target hardware and architecture.
•    Work with the studio existing software technology and build new technology inorder to fulfill the project’s technical requirements.
•    Research coding techniques and algorithms in order to keep current on technological developments and advancements in the game industry.
•    Identify technical and developmental risks/obstacles and generate solutions to overcome identified risks

Reporting to the Game Director, the Lead UI/UX is responsible for the whole UI creation process, from initial UX and Graphic Design to in-game development and integrations.
Being aware of current UI trends in the game industry, he/she will ensure that the user experience is seamless and intuitive on all platforms, and that the UI art style is consistent throughout the game with a high degree of readability.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a multi-disciplinary team of UI/UX programmers and artists to help them reach their objectives in term of time and quality.
  • In collaboration with designers, define ergonomics by making UI/UX wireframes and navigation flows, including advanced prototypes.
  • In collaboration with the art team, define the UI art style and make sure it’s implemented consistently in all UI elements
  • Monitor the scripting and implementation of all UI elements in accordance to the game design intentions.
  • In collaboration with programmers, ensure that the UI fits into the engine technical constraints.
  • In collaboration with the producers, create and refine the team organization and processes. Help to make a realistic planning and anticipate risks.
  • Monitor outsourcing: set objectives to the contractors. Control the quality of their assets by making regular feedbacks.
  • Have a positive and constructive attitude. Develop self-confidence and support Arkane values and culture.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years as UI/UX Designer, Artist or Programmer, ideally in the video game industry.
  • At least 1 year in a manager position
  • Shipped at least 1 AAA project on consoles
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of UI design principles
  • Mastery of Photoshop, Illustrator, AfterEffect, Flash/Animate, XD or any other UX solution
  • Strong knowledge of Action Script 3.0 and OOP Concepts is a plus
  • Passionate about video games and aware of the current trends

Senior Tools Programmer

Reporting to the Lead Tools Programmer, the ideal candidate is responsible for developing and maintaining a wide range of production tools in the game editor.

As a producer you ensure that the project vision is realized while communicating status to keep everyone aligned. You play a key role in coordinating, planning, analyzing team metrics and establishing a development environment designed to help the team achieve success.

Responsibilities

La gestion des plannings et des priorités :

  • Assurer le respect des plannings et la livraison des milestones dans les délais et la qualité visé
  • Créer et mettre à jour les plannings et les listes de tâches, s'assurer que l'état d’avancement du jeu est largement communiqué, garder toutes les parties prenantes, la direction et l'équipe alignées sur les objectifs

  • Assist in training actions: ensure that team members have the right technical and soft skills
