Lead Graphics Engineer

Overview

Arkane Austin is looking for a Lead Graphics Engineer to join us and lead a team of talented engineers in developing AAA games for PC and console systems.

Our emergent gameplay style and immersive simulation values lead to interesting challenges. As a Lead Graphics Engineer, you will be helping to guide the technical vision and core game technology to solve these challenges and support the development team.

The preferred location for this role is Austin, TX. Will consider remote.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of engineers and collaborate with developers in surrounding disciplines to architect, build and maintain long-lived, architecturally sound graphics features and pipelines
  • Design and help implement solutions that support both production and runtime requirements
  • Work with external partners to integrate emerging technologies
  • Integrate new technologies into the pipeline
  • Execute memory and performance optimizations
  • Provide support and training to co-developers and users
  • Document workflows and advocate best practices

Qualifications

  • 5+ years game industry programming experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • At least one AAA title shipped as a contributing graphics engineer
  • Strong knowledge of C++, graphics engine & shader programming models & dedicated languages such as HLSL
  • Experience on current generation console hardware
  • Familiarity with global lighting methods, dynamic lighting, shadow rendering and similar concepts
  • Excellent 3D math skills
  • Solid architecture and software design ability
  • Passion for graphics programming and staying on top of current techniques
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to write clear, maintainable, portable code
  • Must be a self-motivated and energetic team player with a very strong work ethic and cooperative attitude

Salary Range

Lead Graphics Engineer - The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $125,000 - $240,000 per year.

The range above reflects the potential base pay across the U.S. for this role; the applicable base pay range will depend on what ultimately is determined to be the candidate’s primary work location. Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time.

Senior Animation Engineer

Overview

Arkane Austin is looking for a Senior Animation Engineer to join our team in developing AAA games for PC and console systems.  Our emergent gameplay style and immersive simulation values lead to interesting challenges. As an animation engineer you will help drive animation quality and fidelity while solving these challenges and delivering best-in-class player experiences

The preferred location for this role is Austin, TX. Will consider remote.

Responsibilities

  • Work with technical artists, animators and other engineers to develop animation systems, features and tools
  • Design, develop and maintain animation blend graphs, custom animation nodes and components in collaboration with the animation team
  • Make changes to the skeletal animation system when necessary to support game requirements
  • Integrate new technologies into the engine and pipeline
  • Identify and implement platform-specific optimizations
  • Work on other game systems and features as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • At least five years of game industry experience
  • Substantial work with animation systems on at least one shipped AAA game title
  • Experience developing and working with animation blend graphs, real-time IK, and animation compression
  • Experience with engine animation systems
  • Experience with real-time concurrent systems is a plus
  • Excellent C++ language and design skills
  • Excellent 3D math skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

Salary Range

Sr. Animation Engineer - The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $100,000 - $215,000 per year.
