Senior Graphics Engineer

Overview

Arkane Studios is looking for a Senior Graphics Engineer to join our team in developing AAA games for PC and consoles.  The ideal candidate will be passionate about rendering technology, have excellent problem solving skills and a desire to work in a creative and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with artists and engineers to design, research, schedule and implement rendering features

Qualifications

  • 5+ years game industry programming experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • At least one AAA title shipped as a contributing graphics engineer
  • Strong knowledge of C++,  graphics engine & shader programming models & dedicated languages such as HLSL
  • Experience on current generation console hardware
  • Familiarity with global lighting methods, dynamic lighting, shadow rendering and similar concepts

  • Work with the Lead Gameplay Engineer, producers, designers and artists to design and plan gameplay and online features from conception to completion.
  • Prototype, build and maintain gameplay systems and features

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent

Senior Environment Artist

Overview

Arkane Studios is looking for a Senior Environment Artist to join our team in creating AAA games for PC and next-generation console systems. The ideal candidate will help in creating detailed, story driven environments while working closely with the Art Director and Leads to create assets for integration into game levels.

Responsibilities

  • 5+ years’ experience as an Environment Artist or other relevant experience for creating game ready assets
  • High level of proficiency in Maya, ZBrush and Substance Designer/Painter
  • Demonstrate expertise of texturing using both procedurally generated and hand painted techniques in a PBR workflow
  • Strong understanding of modularity and the use of trim sheets for optimal level building
  • Able to work from photo reference or concept art, as well as ability to interpret design intention when concept is unavailable
  • Flexibility to adapt asset creation to any art style
  • Knowledge in traditional art principles and theory of function, form, shape, proportions, and color, etc.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of other industry standard tools, such as World Machine, Speed Tree, Marvelous Designer, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of technical game art theory (memory limitations, streaming, collision, texel density, polycount, and optimization, etc.) to create assets that meet performance requirements
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage workload independently with limited assistance or direction, as well as strong collaboration with all team members
  • Ability to self-critique your own work, iterate, and make decisions on ways to improve overall quality

Character Animation Engineer

Arkane Studios is looking for a Character Animation Engineer to join our team in developing AAA games for PC and console systems. The candidate will have experience in the design of robust character animation systems and expert knowledge of skeletal animation in general as well as be a self-motivated, energetic team player with a healthy work ethic and cooperative attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with technical artists, animators and gameplay engineers to develop a character animation system that allows gameplay code to interact with an existing skeletal animation system
  • Conceive, develop and maintain animation blend graphs with the animation team to support gameplay requirements
  • Make changes to the skeletal animation system when necessary to support gameplay requirements
  • Identify and implement platform-specific optimizations
  • Work on other game systems and features as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • At least five years’ experience programming games
  • Substantial work with animation systems on at least one shipped AAA game title
